- Les Biharis est le nom donné aux habitants de l'État indien du Bihar. Ils peuvent être séparés en trois grands groupes ethnolinguistiques indo-aryens : les Bhojpuris, les Maithils et Magahis. Ils sont également divisés en plusieurs groupes de castes héréditaires. On trouve des biharis dans toute l'Inde et dans les pays voisins du Népal, du Pakistan et du Bangladesh. Pendant la partition de l'Inde en 1947, de nombreux Bihari musulmans ont émigré au Bengale oriental (plus tard au Pakistan oriental, puis au Bangladesh ou au Pakistan).
