- Neurosis est un groupe de doom metal américain, originaire d'Oakland, en Californie. Neurosis a inspiré de nombreux groupes comme Isis ou Cult of Luna qui voient le jour au début des années 2000. Une partie des membres de Neurosis a un projet parallèle très expérimental nommé Tribes of Neurot, dans lequel ils ne jouent que des morceaux instrumentaux. Il s'agit d'expérimentations dont le style est très difficile à déceler, avec notamment de grosses influences de musiques tribales, alliées avec des atmosphères très oppressantes et sombres. L'album Times of Grace de Neurosis peut d'ailleurs se superposer de manière sonore avec un album de Tribes of Neurot, Grace.
