  • Milton Becerra (born Tachira, August 10, 1951) He began exhibiting his works in 1970, while still a student at the Cristóbal Roja School of Plastic Arts in Caracas, from which he graduated in 1972.He won the first prize in the third Salón Nacional de Jóvenes Artistas (National Salon of Young Artists) in 1973. In the same year he held his first solo exhibition at the Caracas Athenaeum.In 1976, after his first exhibition at the Caracas Museum of Contemporary Art, he began a series of explorations of natural landscape, to depict the manner in which the rivers are becoming polluted and the devastation of the land, influenced by Land Art movement of the time, marking the introduction of the movement in Venezuela. He produced a photographic record of each of these acts, which were later placed on display and published on various occasions.Beginning in 1980 he moved into new offerings and installations in which stone and rope were core elements expressing ecological and cosmogonic themes through which he allows nature the chance to express itself through a personal language that belongs to it like creation. In his interpretations he achieves and alliance with works and installations that project varied geometric shapes representing superdimensional shapes.In 1980 he moved to Paris, where he still works and resides.
